Christ Embassy Stops AKSG from Enforcing Covid-19 Church Reopening Guidelines

Police Naps 60 Suspects There is palpable tension and fear in Inen community in Oruk Anam local area of Akwa Ibom as two persons were at the weekend reportedly killed in a renewed clash between cult groups. 2020 World Environment Day: AKSG advicates Biodiversity Conservation

As the World marked the year 2020 Environment Day, Akwa Ibom State government and major Environment Stakeholders have called for proactive steps to avoid ultrasion of plants and animals habitats against negative consequences. The event took place at Watbridge Hotel in Uyo last weekend. Speaking, the Head of Civil Service of Akwa Ibom State, Elder Effiong Essien said that the occasion offered ample opportunity for Stakeholders to reflect on how the immediate environment is handled by man noting that human lives is directly related to the environment. Late Ibanga Etang Died of Covid 19- NDDC Insists

The Management of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has been consulting with the family of Elder Ibanga Bassey Etang who passed away in the early hours of Thursday, May 28, 2020. The family has authorized the Commission to announce that the late executive director tested positive to COVID-19. The Rivers State Ministry of Health has written to the Commission to also confirm the cause of death resulting from complications attributable to COVID-19. The ministry has, therefore, directed the Commission to order all management staff to go into self-isolation for a period of 14 days with effects from today, While seeking the cooperation of the organisation in tracing staff and contractors who have had close contact with the deceased. During the meeting with the family, they expressed fervent desire, that the death of the Executive Director should not be politicised, wishing to be left alone to mourn with dignity.  This also is the position of the Commission. Calls for calm among University landlords Indigenes of Offot Ukwa communities in Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State have risen in unison against the illegal demolition of houses in Ekpri Nsukara by the University of Uyo Authority, describing such as a criminal act. Led by the Honorary Special Adviser to Akwa Ibom State Governor on Grassroot Mobilization, Otuekong Enefiok Ekefre, the people made their position known officially during their visit to report the case to the Paramount Ruler of the Area, Edidem Sylvanus Okon at his palace. It could be recalled that some houses and other properties worth millions of naira were illegally demolished on the 24th May, 2020 on alleged order by the University authority in Ekpri Nsukara community.
