Breaking! Gov Eno clears N39.8b bank loans incurred by Udom's administration
The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno has cleared N39.831 billion commercial bank loan owed by the administration of the immediate past Governor of the state, Mr Udom Emmanuel. The Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Mr Emem Bob made this known during a press briefing on Tuesday at the Ministry's Conference room, Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat, Uyo. According to him, "After a thorough review and negotiations, this Administration of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno fully cleared the debt as at last month of November, 2025. The total amount paid was N39.831 billion. The details of the transaction are; Principal: N34.533 billion and Interest of N5,298 billion." The Finance Commissioner noted that since May 29 , 2023 when Governor Eno came to power, he has not borrowed money for any project or programme.
