The State Chairman of Accord Party in Akwa Ibom State, Xt Amb Martins Inyang has hosted Chairmen and secretaries of the party across the 31 local government areas and wards in an inaugural meeting.

The meeting took place at the party State Secretariat, 82 Nsikak Edward way, Uyo last weekend.

Addressing the party stakeholders, the State Chairman disclosed that the Party will conduct ward and chapter Congresses simultaneously on March 4, 2021, adding that some vital position at the federal constituency and Senatorial District levels, will be occupied by Chapter Chairmen respectively.

Xt Amb Inyang explained the different positions and committees that must be filled at both the State and local government levels, to ensure that the party takes up the leadership of Akwa Ibom State in no distant future.

He urged all the executive officers of the party at all level to ensure that they register in their respective polling units to deepen democracy, as well as encourage good politics at the grassroots.

He urged leaders at chapter and ward levels to ensure that they secure an office space for the Party, explaining that the party flag must not be hidden for any reason.

The Accord Party Chairman boasted that his party will produce the next Governor in Akwa Ibom State, and charged the stakeholders to work hard by sensitizing the people on the need to join them before 2023.

The meeting was well attended by the thirty Chapter Chairmen and secretaries, ward Chairmen and secretaries, as well as other bigwigs of the party in the State.

The Senate President Godswill Akpabio and 10 senators are expected to receive the 2023 governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Akwa Ibom State, Bassey Albert, into the All Progressives Congress (APC) today, Friday, in Akwa Ibom. A source, who disclosed this to PREMIUM TIMES, said the event will take place in the afternoon at Mr Akpabio’s hometown, Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom. “The senators are already in town, they are lodging at a hotel in Ikot Ekpene.
