Uwem Ita Etuk Sues for Unity, Development Rebirth In Atai Uyo

The quest for unity and development of Atai Uyo - a conglomerate of the four local government areas of Uyo, Nsit Atai, Uruan and Ibesikpo Asutan, which were under the old Uyo LGA, has earned the support of notable political chieftain and former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Uwem Ita Etuk. Ekere Ime The Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Hassan Sardauki has charged Muslim faithfuls to exhibit the spirit of prayers and remain obedient to constituted authorities in and outside Akwa Ibom State. Alhaji Sardauki gave the charge during the celebration of the 2021 Eid-el-Kabir held at the Itam Central Mosque, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, yesterday. Alhaji Sardauki who attributed the calamity that people faced on daily basis to disobedience to the commandments of God, called on Muslim faithfuls to seek and embrace peace so that the present insecurity currently bedevilling the country, will be a thing of the past. Accord lauds Gov Udom on Commissioning of Ikot Oku Ikono flyover

Rt Hon Martins Inyang,  Accord Chairman, Akwa Ibom State The  State Chairman of Accord party in Akwa ibom State, Rt Hon Martins Inyang has applauded the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel over the recent commissioning of Ikot Oku Ikono flyover, describing it as a big relief for commuters. Rt Hon Inyang while fielding questions from our Reporter stated that although the flyover project took time to be completed, the quality of work done is worth the time of waiting for it. He specifically commended the Honourable Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof Eno Ibanga for his resilience and effort of ensuring quality work delivery in the shortest possible time frame. Emmanuel Bassey has appealed to the Federal Government of Nigeria,  Akwa Ibom State Government and the  Federal Ministry of Education to consider Nkari in INI Local Government Area as the best location for the proposed Federal University of Technology.  Speaking with journalists in Uyo, the lawmaker said this will naturally put an end to over two decades of communal clashes between Nkari and Usaka, a neighbouring community in Abia State which has led to loss of lives and property.  He noted that "the indigenes of the area (Nkari) are now living in fear due to incessant and perpetual attacks.
