Victor Ekwere's Legislative Aide Quits, Joins Mkpat Enin Assembly Race

Obong Lawrence Umoren, immediate past Senior Legislative Aide to Hon Victor Ekwere

The Senior Legislative Aide to Honourable Victor Ekwere, Member representing Mkpat Enin State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and chairman, House Committee on Judiciary, Justice, Human Rights and Public Petition, Obong Lawrence Umoren  has resigned his appointment.

The resignation according to pundits may not be unconnected to his zeal to join the Mkpat Enin State Constituency race to speak for his people in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly come 2023.

Obong Umoren who tendered his resignation last week Thursday to the Mkpat Enin lawmaker in his office, lauded his former boss for the platform through which he served his people and more importantly expanded his knowledge on legislative matters.

He extolled Honourable Ekwere for his friendly dispositions and humane behavior during his three years of working with him, expressing optimism that he will continue in his good conducts throughout his remaining one year in office as Member representing Mkpat Enin State Constituency.

The immediate past legislative aide to Victor Ekwere when asked if the resignation has any political undertone to  2023 House of Assembly seat zoned to his clan, Ukpum Minya, however refused to affirm or deny same. Instead he said he was going to United Kingdom to see his family first before deciding on his next move.

Obong Umoren who holds a Masters degree in criminology from Middlesex University and a Postgraduate Diploma in digital surveillance from Islington College had lived in the UK prior to his appointment.
