2023: Accord guber candidate's wife empowers traders with cash in A'Ibom

The wife of the governorship candidate of the Accord, Mrs Mercy Coffie has distributed cash to traders in Itam, Akpan Andem markets in Uyo and Urua Oto, Ikot Ekpene local government area as part of empowerment packages to boost their businesses.
Accompanied by the State Chairman of the party, Rt. Hon Martins Inyang and other stakeholders, Coffie was cheered by the traders for her large heart and benevolence.
Addressing journalists in the market, Mrs Coffie noted that the project tagged " Market Waka" is the result of her dream to lift the people at the grassroots out of poverty
" " Market Waka is my own way of doing survey at different markets, to know their difficulties and then assist them financially. This is one programme that will continue when I am in office..My desire is to see the people at the grassroots supported in their businesses so that they can live better lives with their families " she explained
Mrs Coffie revealed that with the impact so far made with market Waka, she is inspired to cover several markets in the different senatorial districts of the state
Commending her for the initiative he noted is humanitarian and laudable, the State Chairman of Accord, Rt Hon. Martins Inyang said the gesture is beyond the financial assistance
The heart and love packaged in market Waka, he said is even of greater value
In his view Akwa Ibom people should see the need to support a candidate and a party that is people oriented
' The fact that the wife of our governorship candidate is going round markets to meet the people at the grassroots tells you that she is a listening person. And then she has gone ahead to support them after knowing their individual needs " he stated
Beneficiaries commended Mrs Coffie for her gesture, noting that the support they have received will improve their businesses .
