Mkpat Enin Political Leadership: Ukpum Minya Ward 4 Backs Prof Eno Ibanga •••As Dr Unwana-Abasi Emerges New Ward Leader

Prof. Eno James Ibanga, Hon Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Akwa Ibom State 

Stakeholders, Caucus and members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ukpum Minya ward 4 has again declared their support and solidarity to the Honourable Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof Eno Ibanga as the political leader of Mkpat Enin local government area. 

The people have also unveiled a former Councillor, Dr Unwana-Abasi  Sunday Udoh as the new ward leader of Ukpum Minya ward 4, following the suspension of Hon. Aniedi Ekanem, whom they averred was involved in fraud, impositions and anti-party activities. 

In a communiqué signed by the ruling party's ward chairman, Mr. Ubong Donald Hezekiah Akpan and eleven other stakeholders in the ward and made available to our news room, the people debunked the allegation against Prof Eno Ibanga, stating that the commissioner has contributed immensely to the victory and sustainability of the PDP  in Mkpat Enin, especially in the just concluded 2023 general elections.

 *POINT OF CORRECTION AND ADOPTION OF PROF. ENO JAMES IBANGA AS THE POLITICAL LEADER OF MKPAT ENIN LGA BY THE ENTIRE PDP FAMILY IN UKPUM MINYA WARD IV*

The attention of the entire PDP family in Ukpum Minya Ward 4, namely: the Elders, Women, Youths, and entire Residents has been drawn to the purported warning by the so-called stakeholders to our amiable son of Ukpum Minya clan, former Vice Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University and a two-term Commissioner for Works and Fire Service in Akwa Ibom State as well as a Member of the State Executive Council on the caption, "Stakeholders Warn Eno Ibanga Over Moves to Scatter PDP in M/Enin".

We, the entire PDP family in Ukpum Minya Ward 4 wish to unequivocally state as follows:

1. That, Prof. Eno James Ibanga is a proud son of the Ukpum Minya clan and we cannot fold our arms to watch strangers and members of opposition parties, particularly members of YPP and APC embark on a sponsored, but futile mud-slinging exercise on our dear son and go scot-free;

2. That, Prof. Eno Ibanga has not made any moves to scatter PDP in Mkpat Enin LGA as purported in their report, instead, the duo is a nice gentleman, a bridge builder, and a major financier of PDP in the entire Mkpat Enin LGA as well as in all the wards in the local government area;

3. That, in buttressing  point number 2 above, Prof. Eno Ibanga apart from his huge financial support from time to time, has raised a perimeter fence around the PDP Secretariat opposite the Local Government stadium along Ibekwe road in Mkpat Enin town with a fortified two-leaves gate as a mark of his support to the party;

4.  That, based on the foregoing, Ukpum Minya Ward 4 do hereby unanimously adopts Prof. Eno James Ibanga as the Political Leader of Mkpat Enin LGA as was duly nominated and presented to the Paramount Ruler, Edidem Akpan Akpan Ekpene in his Palace by the stakeholders of Mkpat Enin LGA;

5.  That, on grounds of anti-party activities, imposition, high-handedness, and gross disrespect to the Governor's recent directive on the selection of a Personal Assistant (PA) to the Governor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ward Caucus for Ukpum Minya Ward 4 in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area has suspended Mr. Aniedi Ekanem as a political leader in the ward, forthwith;

6.  That, the PDP Ward 4 Caucus has also constituted a Committee headed by the Chairman, Ukpum Minya Clan Union  and Chairman Ukpum Minya Ward 4 Caucus, Prince Essien Okon Ufot-Ekpo, to investigate the allegations on the said Hon. Aniedi Ekanem (who had contested election and represented the ward on the platform of All People's Party APP and thereafter usurped the political leadership position in the ward and also became an Ex-officio member of PDP at the chapter level without officially decamping to the PDP as the custom is) and suggest a way forward for the party in the  ward;

7.  That, without the special and constant interventions of Prof. Eno James Ibanga in Ukpum Minya Ward 4 during the just concluded general elections in the country, PDP would have woefully lost the elections as the said Hon. Aniedi Ekanem had surreptitiously mobilized votes for the success of the entire opposition parties, and in particular, his younger brother, Hon. Ekanem Brown who ran for the position of a House of Assembly member on the platform of YPP;

8.  That, the ward is now mature enough to handle and decide on its political matters, therefore, every strangers, step sons and daughters are henceforth, advised to steer clear from the Ward's polity and allow the Aborigines to freely decide and carry out their political affairs;

9.  That, Chief Bob Akpan Akpan, the former Zonal Director of Education, whom they had erroneously roped into their assertion has publicly dissociated himself from the purported write-up of members of APC and YPP as he has now found and duly identified with his brothers in PDP in the ward as seen in the pictures;

10.  That, *Mr. Ekerete Ekarika remains the authentic Personal Assistant (PA) Nominee* for Ukpum Minya Ward 4 whom the party hierarchy is strongly advised to uphold while ignoring every other name that may be aimlessly flying about as sponsored by the members of the opposition party who may disguise themselves as the members of the PDP in the ward;

11. That, today being the 3rd Day in the month of August, 2023 the entire PDP family in the ward as enumerated in the opening paragraph above, has just rose from a Ward Exco/Stakeholders meeting chaired by the Ward Chairman, Mr. Ubong Donald Hezekiah Akpan at Ikot Obiokwa Town Hall and had adopted this report as being the authentic working document for the ward;

12. That, in the same vein, the ward had also nominated and presented to the house Dr. *Unwana-Abasi Sunday Udoh* as the new *Ward Leader*;

13.  Finally and above all, while the ward wishes to thank Governor Umo Eno for his purposeful leadership anchored on the famous *Arise Agenda*,  everyone, both indigenes and residents of Ukpum Minya Ward 4 is advised to remain calm and peaceful and continue to support the State Government as it prepares to unleash dividends of democracy on the people.
