A'Ibom Traders partner Trade Ministry to boost commerce

  Akwa Ibom Traders Forum has expressed its readiness to partner with the Ministry of Trade and Investment to strengthen commercial activities, improve market infrastructure, and enhance the welfare of traders across the state. This was the outcome of a meeting held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the Ministry’s Conference Room in Uyo, between the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Captain Iniobong Ekong (Rtd), and the Akwa Ibom Executive Members of Traders Forum led by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Market Matters, Akparawa Idorenyin Raphael. New Tax Reforms Favours Low Income Earners – AKIRS Boss

                Okon Okon Names implementation committees The Executive Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service (AKIRS), Sir Okon Okon, has assured Nigerians that the new tax reforms recently introduced by the Federal Government will ease the tax burden on citizens, particularly those within the low-income bracket. Sir Okon gave the assurances while speaking in Uyo, recently, during a courtesy visit by the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Akwa Ibom State Command, Mr. Francis Ajatta, as part of ongoing engagements towards the implementation of the new reforms scheduled to commence in January 2026.    Evelyn Udobia  Following its recent visit to Sure Foundation College of Nursing Sciences, Ukanafun in Akwa Ibom State, on a final accreditation exercise, the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), has given the approval for the commencement of training at the College.
