Ibiono Ibom Communities Lament Poor Roads

The Village Head of Ikot Antono , USE   Abat ,Ibiono Ibom local government area, Eteidung Xavier Williams Ekanem  has decried the deteriorating roads situation in his community as worrisome

He  also pointed out a particular road that linked them  with Asanting Ibiono in Ibiono Ibom local government area, saying that the road needs to be fixed because it is the only  road that  will help them to navigate their ways to the other side of the community.

He made this remarks in  a chat with newsmen in his palace.

The Royal Father also made it clear that during the electioneering campaign in 2023 , Pastor Umoh Eno had promised to construct that particular road for them and that promised emboldened them to go out enmasse to vote him to power but after the election and even up to now he has not done justice to his words.

He maintained that they can not recount the embarrassment they used to pass through when they passed through another local government area for their various businesses because of lack of road .

Noting that his community is comprised of about nine villages and throughout the nine villages there is no secondary school for their children education and called on the  Commissioner Akwa  Ibom State Ministry of Education    to establish at least one secondary school for them.

He further emphasized on the need for the government to provide transformer for the community, Civic centre for recreational activities, potable water supply centres, and market square to promote economic activities in the area.

The Royal Father also hinted that there is a good parcel of land preserved in the area for the market square and requested for Governor Eno's assistance

He also pleaded with the concerned authority to provide them with the solar energy street light.

Speaking at the meeting, the former Youths President Comrade Patrick John Akpan decried the negligence on the part of elderly people in the area especially in terms of health care and called on  Governor Umo Eno to help establish Health Care Centre in the community.

Earlier in his speech, Obong Francis  Asukwo ,the Family Head reiterated the case of bad road network situation in the area  and lack of transformer to distribute light in the area

Moreso , the Assistant Village Council Secretary,Mr Festus pointed out that there is a junction in the area which is suitable to attract government presence adding that the community is ready to donate to the state government to establish Oil Mill for the community since the community is naturally endowed with palm fruit.

The Monarch also commended , Pastor Umo Eno for inclusive administration but appealed to him to turn his eyes to his community,that the  principal  thing that they strongly needed is for  him to  provide good road network for his  community.

He requested for mostly access roads to link them to the other side of the community.

Furthermore, the Family Head of Nung Akpan Antia Ekpe, applauded the youths in the area for exhibiting great decorum in the area and also thanked the youths president Comr Okon Ibok for demonstrating exemplary behaviour worthy of emulation by others and prayed God to strengthen him.

He again thanked  the  entire youths in the community and asked God to bless them.

On the smearing of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio by his sister's inlaw Pat Akpabio ,he said the problem is purely a family matter and pleaded with the warring parties to take a second look on the matter with the mind of calling off the squabble and allow peace a chance in the family.

On the election 2027 , the Monarch also prayed and asked God to prevail and also pledged support for Pastor Umo Eno in his second term bid come 2027.
