Rising from the false  publication on social media and other media space that the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio has endorsed the Senator representing Akwa Ibom South, Ekong Sampson for a second term, the Chief Press Secretary to the Senator President, Jackson Udom has denied that the Senate President cannot dabble into such bad politics.

Jackson Udom who spoke with The Eyes Newspapers via mobile phone  last Monday, stated that the Senate President cannot come from Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District to endorse somebody from Eket Senatorial District, an act he explained will be tantamount to bad politics.

According to  Jackson Udom, "The Senate President during the just concluded All Progressives Congress Chapter congress, endorsed Prince Ukpong Akpabio representing Essien Udim State constituency in the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly for a second term, and also endorsed Dr Patrick Umoh, representing Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara /Essien Udim federal constituency;  all in his State and federal constituencies"

"There was no time the Senator President mentioned or endorsed any other person outside his area of jurisdiction."

It will be recalled that the All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, and Senator Godswill Akpabio for re-election  in the 2027 general election

The International Coordinator of the ARISE with Renewed Hope Initiative, Hon. Udo Kirian Akpan has during a television interview in Uyo stated that only the three individuals mentioned will be given a free hand to run for a second term in office, while every other person will pass through party primaries to emerge for any positions.
