The Obio Akpa campus of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) under the leadership of Professor Eno Ibanga has been thrown into wild celebrations as news of NBC granting the institution's radio station license to operate broke to the students and staffers of the institution, yesterday. Speaking exclusively to THE INK reporter, the Head of Department, Department of Mass Communication, Akwa Ibom State University, Prof Mbuk Mboho confirmed that the university has gained the approval of National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to begin test running of the radio station. Emmanuel announced the dissolution of the cabinet at the State Executive Council meeting on Wednesday 11th March 2020. The dissolved State Executive was inaugurated in June 2019 and was tagged "Completion Agenda Team of Mr. Emmanuel. Meanwhile, condemnation, criticism have continued to trail the Governor's action, as residents of the State said the team was supposed to complete the ongoing second term with the Governor.

Tragic Demise: Gov Okowa Loses Three Aides Within Five Days

Three aides of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State have died within five days in different circumstances. This was reliably gathered in Warri on Tuesday. The deceased include an executive assistant to the governor, Chief Amos Itihwe, who was reported dead days after two other aides of Okowa died of illness. Itihwe, who was a former ethnic nationality commissioner in the Delta Oil Producing Area Development Commission, a one-time Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Ughelli South Local Government Area and lately, Executive Assistant on Political Matters to the Governor, died after a protracted illness. Earlier on Sunday, sources said another aide to the governor, Friday Akpoyibo, died few days after another Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Chief Godspower Muemuifo, died on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, after a brief illness. The Nigerian Navy said it has commenced online registration for the 2020 Recruitment Exercise. According to a statement by the Director Naval Information, Commodore Suleman Dahun, the Recruitment Exercise will commence on 11 March 2020 and close on 21 April 2020. The statement reads in part: “Interested candidates are to apply online at www.joinnigeriannavy.com. Applicants are advised to apply once as multiple application/registration will be disqualified. “On submission, Applicants are to print out copies of the completed Application Forms together with Applicant’s Declaration and Certification by Parent/Guardian Form, local Government Area Certification form, Police Certification Form and Guarantor Form. NDDC Forensic Audit: Over N3.7B Recovered from Contractors, Directors so far says Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday in Abuja said law enforcement agencies have recovered over N3.7billion as well as various assets worth billions of Naira from contractors and former directors of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The President disclosed this at the inauguration of NDDC Advisory Committee, comprising the 9 Governors of the Niger Delta Region and the Ministers of Niger Delta Affairs and Environment. Specifically,  President Buhari said: ‘‘To date, the EFCC and other agencies of Government have recovered over N3.7billion in cash as well as various assets worth billions of Naira from some contractors and former Directors of the Commission. ‘‘Furthermore, I am told that Government agencies have placed liens on over N6 billion of assets which are being investigated.’’ The President told the committee that these abuses of the past clearly show the need for strict and diligent oversight, going forward.
