Six Years in A'Ibom Power Sector: Engr Etukudo Recounts Achievements

The Managing Director of Ibom Power Company Limited, Engr. Meyen Etukudo, yesterday, marked his sixth year at the helm of Akwa Ibom State’s Power Sector as the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Power. Engr. Etukudo, who was the Assistant General Manager, AGM-Lines, at the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, before joining Akwa Ibom State Government on secondment, said that his most laudable achievement in the last six years is that all the engineers in his office have been trained and can install transformers. He said engineers require constant exposure to training to make them better professionals stating that he attended training at home and abroad in his over three decades of work experience with the defunct National Electric Power Authority, NEPA, TCN, and the National Integrated Power Projects, NIPP. The Managing Director of Ibom Power Company, Engr Meyen Etukudo has bagged his sixth professional Fellowship Awards   today, August 21st, 2021. The professional Fellowship Award was conferred on Engr Etukudo by  the Council of  Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria during her  2021 Quarterly Management Conference held at New Point Hotel Uyo. Before this Professional Fellowship Award, Engr. Emmanuel Bassey has appealed to the Federal Government of Nigeria,  Akwa Ibom State Government and the  Federal Ministry of Education to consider Nkari in INI Local Government Area as the best location for the proposed Federal University of Technology.  Speaking with journalists in Uyo, the lawmaker said this will naturally put an end to over two decades of communal clashes between Nkari and Usaka, a neighbouring community in Abia State which has led to loss of lives and property.  He noted that "the indigenes of the area (Nkari) are now living in fear due to incessant and perpetual attacks.
