Man Faces Assassination For Rejecting Shrine Stool, Seeks Asylum

  A, man, Mr. Atusiaka Charles Nzubechukwu of Umunnamobiri Umunnem, Etiti Omuma autonomous community in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo state is concerned of his safety if he continues to live in Nigeria A letter of request for him to be granted asylum, written by his lawyers, Chief Aloy Orobe & Associates  and made available to The Eyes Portal Newspapers states that members of his family who claim that it is his turn to serve as the Chief Priest  of a deity known as Ogwugwu duru shrine but Charles turned down the offer because of his believe that Jesus Christ came to save mankind, are after his life. Arise Agenda: NGO Trains Youth on Self-reliance

  A non-governmental organization in the State, known as the Royalty Youth Ambassadors (RYA) has trained Akwa Ibom Youth on self-reliance, in line with Governor Umo Eno's Arise Agenda. The training which is it's sixth edition since the inception of the group, was carried out in partnership with Swanky Designs, between 19th to 22nd July, at the Mkpo Ama Change Family House, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo. Aimed out empowering participants gainfully, the training featured learning sessions in bridal hand-fans, hand-stitched wigs, hair ventilation, hair revamping and treatment, as well as packaging paper bags mastery, with Ms Akon Uno as Creative Director, Ms. Akon Uno and main facilitator.  According to her, each of the workshops were carefully designed to provide practical and hands-on training to ensure that participants gain valuable skills they can utilize in their personal and professional lives.   Year 1886, the significant year that heralded open agitations for humane time frame within  which a worker should labour is three centuries away, yet the struggle for better welfare packages by workers has remained a recurring decimal in several nations of the world. However, this agitations seem louder in the developing nations. In 1886, workers agitated for the 8 hour per day work time and for the first time this was achieved. Before this agitation, workers were made to work at the timing and discretion of their employees. But today across the world, at least in the public service and formal work environments, the eight hour per day work limit is respected. Over the years, agitations for better working conditions have  led to a lot of improvements.
