Congress: A'Ibom APP Gets New Exco -Akaiso returns as State Chairman

The Action Peoples Party APP, Akwa Ibom State has elected new State Executive led by Hon. Dr Kingsley Akaiso as chairman during her 2026 state Congress. 

The State Congress which took place last Sunday at the Party's secretariat, #90 Obio Imo street, Uyo, was widely perceived as peaceful and transparent

At the Congress all the eleven State Working Committee members were returned  unopposed through a consensus .

Speaking , the Congress Chairman, Pastor Ekomobong Akpan thanked members of the party for their commitment, and lauded them for not allowing the exercise to tear the party apart. 

Pastor Ekomobong Akpan who is a former State Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Akwa Ibom State council, extolled the monitoring team of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for witnessing the Congress without bias, stating that democracy will remain the most potent channel  for good governance. 

In his acceptance speech, the State Chairman of the Action Peoples Party  APP, Hon. Dr Kingsley Akaiso thanked members of his party for the confidence they have on him promising to lead with the fear of God. 

He averred that APP in Akwa Ibom State will continue to work closely in line with the provision of the Electoral Act as amended, assuring that a level playing ground will be given to both members and aspirants that are interested in the forthcoming 2027 general election in Akwa Ibom State. 

While expressing optimism that his party will win majority of positions in the forthcoming general election in Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large, Dr Akaiso disclosed that wards and chapter congresses have already been concluded  with strict supervision by  INEC in the state. 

He called on his party members to remain law abiding, show respect to constituted authorities while going on their political campaigns.  

The Congress was monitored by a team from the  independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), with Mrs Vivian  Oladipo Head Of Department, Election and Party Monitoring, Akwa Ibom State as team lead. 

Those elected and sworn-in were: Hon. Dr Kingsley Akaiso, Chairman; Prophet Iniubong Moses, Deputy Chairman (Uyo); Pastor Victor Mark, State Secretary; Mr Ikono Silas, State Organizing Secretary; Miss Nene Okono, State Woman Leader; Mr Ndifreke Edet Mark, State Youth Leader; Comrade Enobong Peter, State Publicity Secretary; Emem Ekanem, State Treasurer; Barr Gregory Eton, State Legal Adviser; Hon. David William, Welfare Secretary, and Arch. Nelson Ibom, Assistant State Secretary.

Sister Victoria Bose Clarke Received As Ag Chairman BCS Executive Council

  The world headquarters of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS), Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, was agog on Saturday, following a reception ceremony organized in honour of the International Women's President of BCS, Sister Victoria Bose Clarke.
