INEC Announces Date For 2023 General Elections

INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu made the announcement on Wednesday during a one-day public hearing on the National Electoral Offences Commission (Establishment) Bill 2021, organized by the Senate Committee on INEC.   Senator Godswill Akpabio & Effiong Akwa The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has declared that the efforts of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, to restore collaboration among stakeholders will help in fashioning a common roadmap for the development of the Niger Delta region. Staple foods such as garri, yam, rice, beans and even vegetables such as tomato which are everyday requirements in kitchens have gone beyond the reach of the poor. In itself this suggests real difficulties for many Nigerians that are jobless or under-employed because it has become increasingly hard for people to have just one meal a day. It is pathetic that in a situation where people have lost their Jobs, businesses closed down and people don't even have jobs, cost of food could skyrocket to the dreadful levels we are currently witnessing. It should bother leaders with conscience to think about how the poor and vulnerable members of the society are able to afford three cups of garri at the rate of N200, one cup of rice for between N120 to N180, one cup of beans at N130. Accord Party begins membership registration/revalidation in A'Ibom

  •Warns members against fraudsters   Ahead of 2023 election, the Accord Party in Akwa Ibom State has commenced registration and revalidation of new and  old Members across the thirty one local government areas of the State. This formed the crux of the Stakeholders' meeting held at the Party State Secretariat, 82 Nsikak Edward Road (Two Lanes) Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, yesterday. Distributing the registration/revalidation forms to local government chapters, the State Chairman of the Party, Xt Amb Martins Inyang expressed readiness to showcase transparency in his leadership, and urged the chapter and ward leaders to ensure equitable distribution of the forms to all intending and old members of the Party, adding that the registration forms is free of charge.
