Pains of the Last Worker in Abba Kyari's Funeral

Breaking the NCDC Social distancing rules and federal government total lockdown law was a necessary evil.

At least the Islamic Religion would be more famous as her terms and conditions remain uncompromised. Body of President Buhari's Chief of Staff, Late Malam Abba Kyari has been laid to rest today. He was a workaholic and deligent Staff to the President. Sadly, he died after testing positive to Coronavirus.

It is a moment of grief and mourning to Nigeria and indeed the entire African Countries. But there is one man who started and ended the burying process alone, and may risk being infected with little or no payment.

Members of the Federal Executive Council led by President Buhari, Imams, Muslims and family members of the deceased were fully kitted with gloves, nose mask, shoes and sterilizers in their pockets to protect themselves from contacting the deadly Coronavirus.

The Gravedigger who prepared the last resting place for the Late President's Chief of staff has risked his life. Barefooted with no personal protection equipments except Shovel and digger. He is a no body and belong to the least class of human in the society. I presume he has a family where he digs grave and other hard jobs to give them life. Unfortunately, he has unprotectedly dug the grave of a Coronavirus victim in the presence of both Political and Religious Leaders. He may die as a hero.

Needless to remind the federal government of Nigeria that Coronavirus or Covid 19 spread from person to person in close proximity, similar to other respiratory illnesses such as flu.

The droplets of body flu from infected persons are dispersed in the air or on surfaces. This droplets can come into direct contact with other person or can infect those who pick them up by touching infected surfaces and their faces.

  However, that Gravedigger may be ignorant of this pandemic and decided to act in such unguided manners. It is incumbent on the federal government to as a matter of urgency, search for the Gravedigger and isolate him to curb the wild spread of Covid 19 in Nigeria.

This should be treated with utmost importance.
