2023: I'll Donate Money to Support Amaechi's Presidential Race- A'Ibom Political bigwig

A senior citizen and political bigwig in Uyo Senatorial District of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Bassey Udoekpo has expressed readiness to make financial contribution to assist the Minister for Transport, Rotimi Amaechi acquired the All Progressive Congress presidential nomination and expression of interest forms in the forthcoming 2023 general elections in the country.

The decision according to him, is borne out of what he described as selfless contributions and sacrifice made by the Transport Minister as Campaign Director that saw to the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and 2019 presidential elections respectively.

Speaking in an interactive session with journalists in Uyo last weekend, Obong Udoekpo  noted that only people with great antecedents and leadership prowess should be allowed to lead Nigeria, saying that Amaechi has proven record that surpasses every other aspirants for the presidential job.

He specifically urged the Transport Minister not to be deterred by huge amount of nomination form, advising that Amaechi should make public his bank account number so that people of goodwill will contribute directly for him to purchase the one hundred million Naira (N100,000,000) APC presidential nomination forms.

His words, "I want Amaechi to make his bank account number available for people like us. I and the entire people of Akwa Ibom State and South South in general will pay directly into his account for him to buy the Presidential Nomination Form for him . We want him to be President Buhari's successor. Buhari will not forget his contribution that led to his emergence. Today, is Amaechi's turn. Buhari need to support him. He will not forget how Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi stake his life for him to emerged as the President of Nigeria in 2015 and 2019 respectively."

"The good people of Katsina State, and all other Northern States will also contribute. I sincerely believe that the northerners will throw their weights behind  Amaechi's aspiration because the Southerners always back them. We are not agitating for any creation of a new country. We are Nigerians. We have voice and by our voices we will be heard. We know that Amaechi will deliver the dividend of democracy to the people and the entire country." Udoekpo stressed.

He maintained that  Rotimi Amachi should not forget to facilitate Calabar rail way project to  reality as it will connect the Southern part of the country to the North, adding that it will promote economic growth, trades and the seaport will be economic hub.

Obong Udoekpo however explained that the actualisation of railway will encourage easy fare of goods and services to Katsina, Kano etc and the South South will take their goods like fish, palm oil, crayfish among other resources to the North and northerners will bring their cattle and sell. He averred that we are one Nigeria, the South South believe in one Nigeria.
