Labour Party and the teaming supporters of Peter Obi in Akwa Ibom State have distanced themselves from what they described as cheap and blackmail lies circulated in the social media  purporting that followers of Labour Party's Presidential Candidate nicknamed " OBI-dient"  endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom state, Pastor Umo Eno in  the forthcoming governorship election in the State."


The party also disowned a certain "Take Back Naija" group which claimed to represents the entirety of OBI-DIENT supporters in the State, describing the group as a  bunch of hungry fools without integrity.

Speaking with The Eyes Newspaper Reporter in Uyo on Tuesday, the Secretary of Labour Party in Akwa Ibom state, Honourable Emmanuel Sampson, who spoke on behalf of the party explained that the so-called "Take Back Naija" group does not have the requirements to register as OBI-DIENT support group when it approached the party for registration few weeks ago.



 He wondered how such a group can transform into a decision making body for OBI-DIENT supporters in Akwa Ibom State, such that they can even go ahead to endorse a candidate of another political party for the same election that Labour Party will contest in 2023.

While calling on the party faithfuls, supporters and believers of Peter Obi to disregard the purported endorsement, Honourable Sampson reiterated that his party's integrity has won the trust of Akwa Ibom people and Nigerians at large; hence it would never descend so low to endorse a candidate who is facing law suit bothering on his integrity 

He disclosed  the party's readiness to take legal action against the so-called Take Back Naija group if they delay to publish an open apologies to Labour party, OBI-DIENTS and Nigerians within 72 hours from Wednesday, October 5, 2022.

The party however called on her teaming supporters to continue believing in the good  vision of Peter Obi for Nigeria, noting that such distraction will not be treated with levity.

The Senate President Godswill Akpabio and 10 senators are expected to receive the 2023 governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Akwa Ibom State, Bassey Albert, into the All Progressives Congress (APC) today, Friday, in Akwa Ibom. A source, who disclosed this to PREMIUM TIMES, said the event will take place in the afternoon at Mr Akpabio’s hometown, Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom. “The senators are already in town, they are lodging at a hotel in Ikot Ekpene.
