Appellate Court Foils Senator Albert's 42 years imprisonment



The Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, has granted bail to the Senator, representing Uyo Senatorial District, Senator Obong Bassey Albert (OBA), after Twenty eight days of his incarceration in Ikot Ekpene Correctional Center.

The apex court gave the judgement today Wednesday December 28, 2022.

"In every situation, God has something to say. It's all about God. That same God." OBA writes in his official Facebook timely after his bail.

Breaking! Gov Eno clears N39.8b bank loans incurred by Udom's administration

  The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno has cleared N39.831 billion commercial bank loan owed by the administration of the immediate past Governor of the state, Mr Udom Emmanuel.  The Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Mr Emem Bob made this known during a press briefing on Tuesday at the Ministry's Conference room, Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat, Uyo. According to him, "After a thorough review and negotiations, this Administration of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno fully cleared the debt as at last month of November, 2025. The total amount paid was N39.831 billion. The details of the transaction are; Principal: N34.533 billion and Interest of  N5,298 billion." The Finance Commissioner noted that since May 29 , 2023 when Governor Eno came to power, he has not borrowed money for any project or programme. He further disclosed that the Governor has also  paid additional N76.3 billion out of the N 110 billion backlog of gratuities inherited from 2012....

For decades, the dominant narrative has been the same: government is employer, government is provider, government is safety net. While other states were building clusters of thriving small businesses, ours remained fixated on payrolls, appointments, and handouts.  That template was not broken under the immediate past administration.
