A foremost political stakeholder and former chairmanship aspirant in Mkpat Enin local government area, Rev. Obot Ekanem has handed over a well furnished party office to the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ikpa Ikono ward 3, Mkpat Enin local government area.

Rev Ekanem while handing over the party office to the ward chairman last Monday, mentioned that the gesture was in appreciation to the magnanimity of Pastor Umo Basey Eno, specifically for awarding the Mkpat Enin/Etinan road with a spur to the Paramount Ruler 's house which crisscross the ward , a road he described as death trap before the construction. 

Addressing the people, Rev Ekanem who is the Political Leader of Ikpa Ikono ward 3, thanked them for their support for the governor so far, and urged them to continue to support the administration of Pastor Umo Eno beyond 2027 for more development in the area. 

He said the brand new party office is his token of contribution to the growth and sustenance of the APC in Ikpa Ikono, and assured that he will do more within his ability to bring dividends of good governance to the people.

While encouraging them to embrace the ongoing voters registration and revalidation exercise, he announced free bus transportation to every member of the ward who will be willing to embark on the exercise to the council headquarters throughout the period. 

He commended the Eighteenth Engineering International Company Limited (EEC) for ensuring quality road construction , and assured them of safety throughout their stays in the area. 

Receiving the party office, the APC ward chairman, Mr Ubong Friday Ekpo commended Rev Obot Ekanem for giving APC its pride of place in Ikpa Ikono ward 3.

He recounted the numerous contributions Rev Ekanem has made to the growth and sustenance of the party, and thanked him for the additional promise of footing the transportation bills for intending voters registers in the ward. 

On his part, the Community Liaison Officer (CLO) for  EEC who doubles as a political stakeholder in the ward, Mr Akaninyene Nelson  commended Rev Obot Ekanem for the donation to the party, and also promised to mobilise for the party's victory in 2027.

Highpoint of the event was the official handing over of the well furnished party office to the ward chairman who was accompanied by the entire ward executives of the All Progressive Congress in Ikpa Ikono ward 3. 

Those who attended the event were the ward Chairman, Councillor representing ikpa Ikono ward 3, Hon. Oku Michael, Ward PA, Mrs Ekaette Inyang, traditional rulers, youth groups, women amongst others.
