In a release signed by the Senior State Secretary of the union, Comrade Victor O. Amirize and made available to our newsroom, the NUT therefore ordered all primary and secondary school teachers in public schools to precede on an indefinite strike action. Sacked Governor of Ebonyi State, Mr David Umahi The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday, sacked Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State and his Deputy, Dr Eric Kelechi Igwe, following their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC. The court, in a judgement that was delivered by Justice Inyang Ekwo, held that the total number of 393, 042 votes governor Umahi secured during the March 9, 2019 governorship election in Ebonyi state, belonged to the PDP and same could not be legally transferred to the APC. According to the court, having defected to the APC, both Umahi and his deputy, not only jettisoned the PDP, but also the votes that belonged to it.   The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd has opted to exercise its right of first refusal as contained in the Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) of the JV + details of NNPC’s position on the planned sale of ExxonMobil shares to SEPLAT Energy Plc. The NNPC has notified Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited of its intention to exercise a Right of Pre-emption on ExxonMobil’s planned sale of its entire asset in Nigeria’s onshore and shallow waters. Recall ExxonMobil and SEPLAT Energy recently announced a sales agreement for SEPLAT to purchase ExxonMobil’s complete shares in MPNU, subject to regulatory approval.
